IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please read all of
this information before proceeding to the updates. It will help
insure a trouble free update process.
- General information
about installing updates
- The updates do not check your version numbers. We recommend
that you check what version you are on before applying an update.
To view version numbers, run the software and press F1 at the "User
ID" field.
- Downloading and installing an update will update your module's version
number to the version number indicated in the "Fix Version"
column. After installing an update, you can check that the update
was applied properly by rechecking the version numbers.
- It is recommended that you back up your software before installing
any updates.
- Everyone should be out of the software when applying the updates.
- If you have any custom programming or custom modules installed,
such as Direct Deposit, do not install any updates until you have
contacted your customization dealer.
- Every installation requires the System Manager update. Other
modules will be needed based on the modules you have installed.
- The "Procedural Update" column contains information about
fixes that don't require a download. Rather, these require you
to manually change something in your software.
- After installing an update, you may need to set file permissions
and ownership for the programs that were installed.
- If you are a source dealer and need the source code for any of these
updates, please contact support at support@pass-port.com
- Information for installing
updates for Windows
- The update may be in one of two formats, either a self-extracting
"exe" file, or a "zip" file.
- For a self-extracting "exe" update: Download the
update program, run it, and when prompted, point to the location of
where your software is installed.
- For a "zip" update: Download the zip file, place
it into the top level directory where the software is installed, and
unzip it using the "folders" option. This way the
updated programs will be placed in their proper sub-directories.
- Information for installing
updates for Unix/Linux
- The updates for Unix/Linux are contained in tar files. Download
and place the tar file in the top level directory where your software
is installed. Then untar it using the command:
tar xvf
tar_file_name.tar
