- General information
about installing updates
- It is recommended that you back up your software before installing
any updates.
- All users should exit out of the software when applying the updates.
- The updates do not check your version numbers. We recommend
that you check the version you are on before applying an update.
To view version numbers, start PBS and press F1 at the "User
ID" field.
- Downloading and installing an update will update your module's version
number to the version number indicated in the "Fix Version"
column. After installing an update, you can verify that the
update was applied properly by rechecking the version numbers.
- Every installation requires the System Manager update. Other
updates should be applied as needed based on the modules you have
installed.
- After installing an update, you may need to set file permissions
and ownership for the programs that were installed.
- If you have any custom programming or custom modules installed do
not install any updates until you have contacted your customization
dealer.
- If you are a source dealer and need the source code for any of these
updates, please contact support at support@pass-port.com
- Information for installing
updates for Windows
- The update may be in one of two formats, either a self-extracting
"exe" file, or a "zip" file.
- For a self-extracting "exe" update: Download the
update program, run it, and when prompted, point to the location of
where your software is installed.
- For a "zip" update: Download the zip file, place
it in the top level directory where the software is installed, and
unzip it using the "folders" option. The updated programs
will then be placed in their proper sub-directories.
- Information for installing
updates for Unix/Linux
- The updates for Unix/Linux are contained in tar files. Download
and place the tar file in the top level directory where your software
is installed. Then untar it using the command:
tar xvf tar_file_name.tar
