Passport Update Program Version 11.5.4 UNIX or Linux Year-end Installation

The following section contains information about the SCO UNIX® OpenServer™ and Linux installations of the PBS Version 11.5.4 Year-end update.

You must be on Version 11.5.x before you can install Version 11.5.4 Year-end update.

Read the Version 11.5 Pre-Installation information on the previous page before you proceed with the installation.

 In order to install this update, you must be familiar with general Linux/UNIX commands. We highly recommend you obtain help from a qualified UNIX or Linux System Administrator if you are unsure about what you are doing.

This install updates Payroll to 11.5.3 and System Manager to 11.5.4.

 Installation tar file

The PBS Version 11.5.4 update for Unix/Linux is contained in a tar file.  There are two tar files to choose from. One that includes Payroll and System Manager and one that includes System Manager only.

Download the tar file that includes Payroll (11.5.3) and System Manager (11.5.4) and place it in the top level directory where your software is installed.

Download the tar file that includes System Manager (11.5.4) only and place it in the top level directory where your software is installed.

Then untar the Payroll and System Manager using the command:

tar xvf pbs_v11-5-4.tar 

 

or untar the System Manager using the command:

tar xvf pbs_v11-5-4nopr.tar  for System Manager only

 

The installation is completed.

Description:  1. State information is missing from final W-2 form when printing double laser (4-up) W-2 forms.

                       2. The control number is not incrementing correctly.

Function: Year-end 

Sub function: Magnetic W-2 forms

Description:  Social Security wages over Social Security maximum are reported incorrectly when employee's

                       social security wages plus W-2 Insurance premium exceed $100,000.00.

2.       If you have custom software or a third party application that integrates directly to PBS, it is now time to install those programs and files.

3.       There are no post-installation configuration instructions for this update. The software is ready to run as is.
